Summer planning time is now. Here are my thoughts today on summer camps.

The activities accessible at different summer camps comprise all from learning how to skateboard or ride a horse, to getting ready for higher education and performing society service. Rainy camping

The rest of our day went well, the boys and Dad went fishing. I stayed at the campsite to get organized and relax in the shade with a good book. We made a fire and cooked dinner. We made roasted marshmallow. It was a fun evening. We all went to bed about 11:30 p.m. My husband and one twin slept in the smaller tent . The rest of us were in the big tent. All was peaceful and calm until about 1:30 a.m.

I switched on the flashlight to where else it was dripping, the whole tent seemed to be leaking. Everyone's sleeping bag and pillow was damp or soaking wet. I couldn't sleep the rest of the night.

We took the Coleman tent back and exchanged for a smaller more waterproof one. After everything dries apply seam sealer and also spray the tent with silicone spray to help it repel water. Eureaka! Seam sealer! We should have done that the first time. We should have been better prepared for rain. Sometimes you learn the hard way!

Who started camping

If you're into camping, you don't think about this much. Do you think of camping activities the same way as everyone else does? I'm sure there is a ton of variation. It was going through my ming today. For example, some people think of camping as packing up a car and going to a camp ground. Others view camping as an activity where they are not near anyone else for miles and miles. Little kids might think of camping as going in the back yard with a tent. Is any of these better than the rest? I think they are all cool. The bottom line is that they get you outside. When Will It Be Spring

Last fall I has simply the best camping trip ever. I have posted about the trip before, so I don't plan to go over all the details gain. But, to summarize, it was a amazing fall day when it was warmer than you would have planned for. It was one of those days that sneak up on you. There you are, alone with nature and you stop and have a serious moment. Do you know what I mean by that? I mean, it was a really BIG moment. I'm not sure where those types of experiences come from, or how to repeat them. But one thing is for sure, you are going to seek that type of experience again. For sure, these are the types of things you really need in your life. So anyway, I don't have that much to say today except that, yes, I'm ready to be back in the woods again.

We have gone tent camping every year forever with my sister and her family. We always camp in State Parks but go for different parks each year. When I bought my first tent, my mom told my I was crazy; I told her to think of it as a folding hotel room. It was an awfully small hotel room, just a 6×6 wall tent (I think they were 6? walls, it was just above getting a pup tent.) I thought camping without the right gear was a crazy idea. But I've found that, the more I go camping the less concerned I am about making sure that essential camping gear was ready to go. In fact, as I've gotten older, my mind has moved away from the gear and more on the experience itself. I guess this is sort of a zen statement. But, it is more and more just about getting away. I am finding the experience of the woods, regardless of what I bring with me is the important thing. You're probably saying, no kidding. But I see many people caught up in the gear and getting distracted from the camping itself. Just get out there. Enjoy it.
